THE LEAGUE’S YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM BENEFITS FROM FOODIE FUNDRAISER

LEAGUE FOR THE BLIND CHRISTINE HAOn Sunday, September 7th Fort Wayne will be treated to a guest appearance by an international star!

Christine Ha, 3rd season winner of Fox MasterChef will appear at IPFW’s Auer Hall as a special guest during a fundraiser hosted by the League for the Blind & Disabled, and our many loyal sponsors.

The event, “Cooking Blind with Fox MasterChef Christine Ha” (who is completely blind) will start at noon and will feature four “home cooks” who were pre-qualified to cook “live” on stage during a preliminary cook-off competition last July co-hosted by Ivy Tech. The home cooks will be competing for a $1,000 cash prize. The event will also feature Ms. Ha giving a cooking demonstration and fielding questions from the audience. Ms. Ha won the FOX Season 3 MasterChef competition by competing against 3,000 other contestants. She was the only blind contestant in the competition.

In addition to the guest appearance of Christine Ha, four professional chefs from the Fort Wayne area will also be cooking “live” on stage, but they will be competing blindfolded! These chefs are sponsored by their representative restaurants and organizations, and are donating their time to this worthy cause.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit The League’s Youth Services program. Currently, The League is serving young people primarily from low-income families. Because The League has very few resources for our Youth Services program, this fundraiser will help tremendously.

We encourage everyone to support this fundraiser and enjoy hours of entertainment by one of the nation’s best known MasterChef competitors-Christine Ha. The show starts at noon. Tickets are available at IPFW’s Ticket Office for $45. Students with a student I.D. can purchase tickets for $25.
