2014 lls CandidatesThe Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) announced the 2014 Northeast Indiana Man & Woman of the Year at a Grand Finale Gala on Friday, May 30 at Ceruti’s Banquet & Event Center. The titles were awarded to the top fundraising male and female campaign participant.

LLS is honored to present the titles to 2014 Man of the Year Mike Kelley, raising more than $40K, and Woman of the Year Amy Fisher, raising over $45K in support of the LLS mission and goals.

Five community leaders competed for the titles of Man & Woman of the Year to inspire this community, to build awareness about LLS and to greatly impact our mission for a cure. These individuals were Thomas Didier, Amy Fisher, Mike Kelley, C. David Tolson and Olivia Valencic-Miller. Collectively, these five candidates raised more than $186,000 in ten short weeks.

The money raised by candidates during the ten-week Man & Woman of the Year campaign is used by LLS to fund research seeking cures and better therapies, and to provide information and support so that patients have the best possible outcomes throughout their cancer experience. The titles of Man & Woman of the Year are awarded to the male candidate and female candidate who raise the most funds during the campaign.
