ANNUAL LAPPER RAISES $69,000

Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana’s Lapper & Survivors Day 2014 proved to be a wonderful day. They were honored to have both new and familiar faces gathered together on May 17 to raise money, build awareness and support Cancer Services’ mission.

Donations from more than 900 generous supporters enabled us to raise more than $69,000. The money will go towards programs and services to help people in our community who are affected by cancer. We also had a record number of participants this year with 53 teams and more than 560 walkers participating in Lapper & Survivors Day.

Cancer Services would like to thank the 20 sponsors who made the event possible. We also want to extend special thanks to several people who helped make the event extra special:
·Pinkie Louden, who was the top fundraiser for the event bringing in $2,570 in donations

·Ella Miller, who sang the National Anthem
·Kim Fislar, who gave the keynote address
·The Bishop Luers Dance Team and their coach, Cindy Figel, for the “flash mob” performed at this year’s event
