GRABNER SELECTED AS AN INDIANA ACADEMIC ALL-STAR
Bishop Luers High School senior Nathan Grabner has been selected as one of 40 students in the state as an Indiana Academic All-Star. The program is sponsored by the Indiana Association of School Principals, in partnership with Earlham College, Franklin College, Indiana University, Marian University, and Purdue University.
Nathan is a National Merit Commended Student, FBLA Public Speaking State Champion and State Runner-Up in Impromptu Speaking. He is an Eagle Scout and during high school was involved in football, swimming, tennis, wrestling, Academic Super Bowl, drama, student council, FBLA, lacrosse, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Nate is the valedictorian of the Bishop Luers High School Class of 2014. He is the son of Nancy and Roger Grabner.
Each winner may select one influential teacher to honor. Nathan selected math teacher Diane Karst by stating, “…she has been vital in my choice of engineering as a career choice. In the real world, the methods to find mathematical answers are never spoon fed. It is the same way in her class. In the four years I have been as Luers, I have never seen her door closed. She is there not only to help me, but all of her students.”
