ARTIST WESTACOTT UNVEILED PAINTING AT 122ND FIGHTER WING
The 122nd Fighter Wing unveiled two historical paintings by renowned artist and aviator Peter Westacott, July 20, 2013. He is a highly acclaimed internationally known artist, a member of the prestigious US Air Force Art Program and qualified pilot, whose aviation career has spanned more than 40 years. Westacott was the special guest and the unveiling of the paintings served as the kick-off to the unit’s annual Family Day events.
Family Day is an annual event designed to honor the families of our airmen for the sacrifices they have made while their loved one serves our great nation. Without the support of our families, our airmen would not be able to accomplish the mission.
In addition to the unveiling of two historical paintings, the day included many family-friendly activities for adults and children. Highlights of the day included a dunk tank, a blow-up water slide and many informational booths featuring organizations that offer services to our military members.
Other events either during, or in conjunction with family day were the Hometown Heroes Salute, A-10 weapons load crew demonstration, and the Peter Westacott Painting Unveiling.
