SCOUTING AROUND
Here it is at the end of the year and I’ll bet you don’t have all your presents bought yet. Am I right or what? If you’re in the mood to shop and want to buy something for everyone in the family, especially a Scouting family, then head to the Scout Shop and I think you’ll find gifts for everyone in the family there.
Dad likes to cook out at home or on camp outs? They have Dutch ovens, camp stoves, lanterns, and cook books as well as cooking utensils.
Want to get mom something special? Look at the jewelry, or how about a new uniform for her?
Sis too might be interested in the jewelry department or maybe she is in the Girl Scouts and could use a new sleeping bag or pack. The same goes for little brother. Sleeping bags are a use-all-year-long gift.
Maybe your Scout is crossing over from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts – surely he will need a new uniform or maybe you can reward him with a genuine Boy Scout knife for Christmas like I’m going to give my grandson. They have T-shirts, sweat shirts, socks, and other items for the growing Scout. The Scout shop will be open up to and including December 22. The Scout Shop and the Scout office, will be closed December 23, 24 and 25th for Christmas Holiday.
December 30 – 31 – January 1 the Scout Shop and Office will be closed for New Years Holiday.
January 3, 4, & 5 The Scout Shop will be closed for inventory.
January 16 – Komets Game
February 12 – Lincoln Pilgrimage
February 19 – Trainer’s E.D.G.E.
February 26 – Boy Scout Pre-Camp Lunch
January 15 – Silver Beaver Nominations due to Council office no later than.
Nomination form available on the council website.
In January, the Anthony Wayne Area Council’s Courier (newsletter) will become a monthly electronic newsletter, with highlights of the coming month’s events and guide to www.awac.org for the complete information. Look for it in January 2011.
