JENNINGS DEPLOYS TO MIDDLE EAST
Jenna Jennings, daughter of Tracy Jennings, granddaughter of Lon (Sonny) & Cheryl Jennings, all from Waynedale graduated with honors from Elmhurst High School in 2008. She is a member of American Legion Post #241 deployed the week of Memorial Day to the Middle East supporting the U.S. Navy effort on the War Against Terrorism.
Jenna graduated Navy Boot Camp in August 2008 in the top percentile of her class. She went onto Pensacola, Florida where she graduated 3rd in her class. She was awarded her dream job with the Navy by serving as an Aviation Electricians Mate, stationed at Whidbey Island, Washington. She along with her squadron “The Grey Knights” support and maintain the P-3 Orion Sub Chasing Aircraft.
Jenna will serve a minimum of 7 months in the Middle East. Upon her return, it is her goal to be accepted to Officers School where she will excel in the Leadership of our Armed Forces.
Jenna is the third generation of Jennings who has served our country. Grandfather Lon served the in U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, Great Grandfathers Stanley Tenny and Burl McClain both served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
