GENEROUS MERCHANTS DONATE TO TASTE OF WAYNEDALE

Kingston Residence of Fort Wayne will be hosting the “Taste of Waynedale” on March 23rd from 4:30 -7:30 p.m., at their community located at 7515 Winchester Road. The proceeds from this event will go to our good neighbor, Community Harvest Food Bank.

Executive Director Erin Floyd states, “We want to do something that supports and promotes the businesses in the Waynedale area, yet also gives back to the community. We are inviting area restaurants to come to Kingston and offer samples of a product or two that they want to promote; something that may be a house specialty or new dish. Vendors will also provide coupons and literature about their restaurant. So far our response has been very good. We already have commitments from businesses such as Casa Ristorante Italiano, Nine Mile, Bandido’s, Azar’s, Pizza Hut, Belmont Beverage, Waynedale Bakery, Subway, Hill’s Market, Minnie’s Diner, Hall’s Drive-In, Jim K’s Pizza, The Lantern, Scott’s Foods, Key III Candy, Pike’s Pub, East of Chicago Pizza, Penguin Point, The Stand, Friendly Fox, China Palace and Chappell’s Coral Grill.“

Another aspect of the “Taste of Waynedale” is the silent auction. Marketing Director Camille Garrison says that businesses that don’t have food products can still participate. They can promote their business and support Community Harvest by offering a product or a service for the Silent Auction. “It’s fantastic how generous the merchants of Waynedale are. We currently have over 30 gifts ranging from golf to tanning, oil changes to gift baskets, and more is anticipated.

There will be a $10 per person fee to attend the event and Kingston is requesting attendees call ahead to RSVP. This will allow the vendors to plan their supplies accordingly. If you are a business and are interested in obtaining more information, or to RSVP to attend the event, please contact Erin or Camille at 747-1523.
