FIRE DEPARTMENT SAFETY EDUCATION AUCTION
The Fort Wayne Fire Department Safety Education Division will be auctioning off a football signed by Fort Wayne native and NFL 2009 Hall of Fame player Rod Woodson.
The money raised from this silent auction will be used for the construction of the Rod Woodson’s Neighborhood Fire Station at the Survive Alive House in the Safety Village. The new building will be used during the Survive Alive House educational program presented by the FWFD. This project has been made possible by the generous assistance of Mr. Rod Woodson, local sports personality Art Saltsberg, and Angels of Promises Kept, a local group founded by Mrs. Debbie Scott. The ball has been donated in memory of Mr. Junior Elrod, friend of Mrs. Scott. Mr. Saltsberg has also graciously donated for the auction, from his personal collection of sports memorabilia, a 1960s era Hank Aaron baseball card.
The items will be on display and available for bidding at Clem’s, located at 4130 West Jefferson Blvd. in Jefferson Pointe, from Monday, November 9 through Friday, December 18. The items will be presented to the winning bidders on Saturday, December 19 at 2:00pm at Clem’s in a special ceremony. For more information please contact the FWFD at 427-1483 or Clem’s at 436-2719.
