MEET OUR SCOUTMASTER

 

Mr. Andy Dukarski has been married to his lovely wife Doni for twenty years. They have three sons, one daughter, and two grandchildren. Andy retired from General Motors two years ago after putting in thirty years with the company. He was a GM ‘Gypsy’ working for five plants in three different states, two foundries in Saginaw, Michigan, a transmission plant in Three Rivers, Michigan, a short stint in Tarrytown, New York and the finished up his career at the Fort Wayne Truck Plant in 2007.

He enjoys working in sports with children of all ages. He coached soccer for two years, UPWARD BASKETBALL for seven years, and T-Ball & Little League Baseball for eleven years. Andy has been a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America for the past eight years. He has been a Cub Scout Den Leader, a Webelos Leader, a Cubmaster, an Assistant Scoutmaster, and he has been the  Scoutmaster of Troop 344, sponsored by Waynedale UMC here in Waynedale for the past three and one half years..

Andy has had the privilege of being the National Youth Leader Training (NYLT) Scoutmaster for the past two years working with scouts from Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan.

This past February, Andy was honored by being named ‘Scoutmaster Of The Year’ at the Miami District Awards Banquet. Andy’s dream is to have every boy in his troop attain the rank Eagle Scout. His said his personal highlight will be when his two sons, John and Rob achieve that goal. Andy said that if your boy’s dream is to become an Eagle Scout, he and his staff of volunteers will be there to help him achieve that goal.
