JULIAN W. BIRT, 83
JULIAN W. BIRT, 83, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, July 24, 2009, at Hospice Home. Born January 6, 1926, in Greencastle, Indiana, he retired from GTE in 1982. He was also a member of Waynedale Baptist Church. The World War II Marine Corp veteran was a member of American Legion, D.A.V. and V.F.W.
He is survived by his daughters, Lynda Birt of Savannah, Georgia and Terry Garland of Fort Wayne; sons, Jay Birt of Phoenix, Arizona and Jon (Ginger) Birt of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Birt of Greencastle; and brother, Jim Birt of Greencastle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris J. Birt, in 1998.
Private service on Monday. Arrangements by Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
