JUNE IS FOR WEDDINGS
Julie, Madison’s mother, said, “Why not just let us write you a check for what a wedding would cost and you can go to the Justice of the Peace?” Even though it was a tongue in cheek remark, her daughter Madison would hear none of it. She wanted a nice church wedding and that was that.
Their wedding announcement ran in the Waynedale News on April 22, proclaiming the plan for Madison Valiton to be wed to Samuel McCloskey on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Church of the Nazarene.
Sam chose his brother Jeff to be the best man and his brother Jason, who is also a minister, to do the ceremony. And then the fun began; wedding dress, attendant dresses, tuxedos, food, beverages, flowers, wedding shower, bachelor party and professional photographer.
Both the bride and groom are from large families and the families were called upon for help. Sam’s father Al, supplied, cooked and served the pork, and Madison’s great Aunt Kathy and Uncle Matt provided their home, on Lower Huntington Road, for the reception. Of course there was tent set-up, table and chairs, awnings, and a DJ.
The reception carried on until the wee hours of the morning. And then, there was the tear down and the cleanup on Sunday.
A J.P. wedding,..no, that wouldn’t have been any fun at all.
