AFTER THE FLOOD OF ‘08
February has not been kind to Waynedale over the past few years. Last year the blizzard hit on February 14 and this year it was the flood. Last year’s February blizzard brought 7.4 inches of snow and 25 mph winds. Of course, who can forget the blizzard of 78 in late January? That one dropped seventeen inches of snow with 4 degree tempts and a -60 degree wind chill.
This years flood closed Calhoun and Tillman, Winchester between Bluffton Road and Airport Expressway, the 1700 block of Catalpa, and Taylor east of Freeman. Congratulations to the Mayor and all the city and county workers that kept flood damage to a minimum.
The combination of high water and cold weather provided some interesting pictures around Waynedale.
