The Double D Horse Day Camp for Girls will open their doors this June for a second year. Double D is regarded as having one of the finest horsemanship programs for girls in the Waynedale area. Owner and instructor Julie Fabini opened her horsemanship camp in the summer of 2006. As a child Fabini was never given the opportunity to attend this type of camp so she opened her own.

Double D Horse Day Camp provides girls, ages 8 to 14, the opportunity to interact with and learn about horses. Girls at last year’s camp learned and practiced skills, including how to read a horse’s body language, how to handle a horse on the ground safely, grooming, how and what to feed a horse, stable management and many other facets of horsemanship.

Each camper eagerly looked forward to the hours they spent with their horse in the ring or on the wooded trails. By following the expert instruction of the riding counselor, the girls discover how easy it is to walk, trot and canter properly and with confidence. And in no time at all, they know all the horses by name.

Fabini says that spots are filling up quickly this year. For more information and to register, contact Julie Fabini at 260-639-0035 or email her at Jazzelva@aol.com. Wonder where the email address came from? Just ask Julie the name of her horses! Double D Horse Day Camp is located just off of HWY 469 and HWY 27S at 10901 Trentman Road, Fort Wayne IN. Julie says, “Look for the red and crème barn.”
