ST. JOSEPH’S PARISH INVITES COMMUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN SPIRITUAL RENEWAL THROUGH PARISH MISSION

St. Joseph’s Parish in Fort Wayne, Indiana, announces a series of special events taking place from February 26 – March 2, 2007. The events were developed in conjunction with the Parish’s mission to deepen personal and spiritual relationships in all aspects of life.

With so many daily obligations, commitments, and personal responsibilities, it is often easy to overlook personal spirituality. The programs offered in the “Behold the Face of Christ” series will be invigorating and meaningful to all. All presentations will be held at St. Joseph’s Church located at 2213 Brooklyn Avenue, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Monday, February 26, 2007, a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. will be followed by a presentation by Father Bill Kummer, pastor of St. Michael’s Parish in Plymouth, Indiana. “Steadfast in Faith” will help individuals to explore and understand that by developing one’s own faith, an entire community is enriched.

On Tuesday, February 27, a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. will be followed by an insightful discussion led by Mary Sue Kriegel from the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend who will share ideas for adults who wish to deepen their relationship with Christ through prayer.

The following evening on Wednesday, February 28, Father Tom Shoemaker, Pastor at St. Jude’s Parish in Fort Wayne, will speak about the power of forgiveness and reconciliation. This program will begin immediately following a reconciliation service at 7:00 p.m.

“Steadfast in Communion” is a special program to conclude the series that will be presented by The Most Reverend John M. D’Arcy, Bishop of the Diocese of Fort Wayne – South Bend. A closing Mass will take place at 7:00 p.m. on March 1, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Parish followed by Bishop D’Arcy’s presentation that will give attendees insight into the importance of the Eucharist in our daily lives.

In addition to the speakers and events, morning reflections on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will be led Sister Jolene Heiden, SSND, from Notre Dame.

“I believe that everyone who attends, whether members of our parish or not, will come to know Christ more closely,” states Father Tim Wrozek, Pastor of St. Joseph’s Parish in Fort Wayne, Indiana. “I encourage everyone in our community, of any faith, to share in our celebration of spiritual transformation,” adds Wrozek.

Anyone wishing to attend should call the Parish at 260/432-5513 for more information. A light meal will be served from 6-6:45 p.m. prior to each prayer service. Handicapped seating will be available and childcare will be provided for all evening sessions. Advance registration is not required and all events are offered free of charge.
