THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK “…PEOPLE ARE REALLY GOOD AT HEART.”
Elmhurst High School presents the Pulitzer Prize winning play The Diary of Anne Frank on Thursday, December 7, 2006 and Friday, December 8, 2006 at 7:30pm. This talented cast entertained you with the musical Once Upon A Mattress last year. Now they are excited about presenting a drama. Actors are always looking for a part that they can get their teeth in. The Diary of Anne Frank is just such a show as it is the true to life story of families in hiding in order to save their lives.
The love plot is a major reversal in this show. Anne thinks Peter is a nobody at first, but as she grows up during the two years in hiding, she puts on her high heels to visit with Peter. At another point in the show, Anne makes presents for everyone in a very imaginative manner. She presents her gifts in both a humorous and touching manner.
Anne is convinced that “In spite of everything, I still believe that people are good at heart.” It is with that same spirit that the cast really puts their best foot forward to match the spirit of Anne Frank. Director, Rosy Ridenour and technical director Don Goss direct with this same spirit in mind. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and may be purchased at the door. Curtain is 7:30. Enjoy the gift of a talented cast.
