WAYNEDALE CELEBRATES EARTH DAY
Waynedale Elementary School celebrated Earth Day on Friday, April 21. They obtained large paper bags from local grocery stores, and then decorated the bags with colorful environmental issues and messages. Then the bags were returned to Scott’s, and the store used them for the customers. In Mrs. Monroe’s kindergarten class they celebrated Earth Day by participating in this project. Mrs. Monroe, a teacher of 35 years of art, said, “I’m hoping that the kids will be aware of recycling and to pass the message on.” “The children are our future and to save the earth we all have responsibilities.” The Annual Earth Day groceries project was developed in order to promote environmental awareness in a school and it’s community. The whole purpose of Earth Day is to make people aware and remind Americans that this is a big responsibility.
