ROY C. COOK, 79
ROY C. COOK, 79, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday, April 20, 2006, in Fort Wayne. Born October 2, 1926, in Decatur, he was a city firefighter retiring in 1979, after 21 years. He was also a volunteer for Wayne Township (Southwest) Fire Department. He was a member of Waynedale Lions Club, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. His hobbies included woodworking.
Surviving are wife, Barbara Jean Cook of Fort Wayne; daughters, Barbara “Janelle” (Steve) Ott, Terri Ann (Bill) Shimp, Terry (Mike) Harrold and Jerri Martin (Joe) Kokosa, all of Fort Wayne and Joy (Tom) Follis of Amarillo, Texas; son, Steve (Kathy) Baumgardner of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Jack and Leslie Sheets, Deven Ott, Nicalas and David Shimp, Kellie Syndram, Matt Follis, and Jen Baumgardner-Fecher; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jacqueline Cook.
Service was Monday, April 24, at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
