LADY COUGAR SENIOR IS MCC PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK
University of Saint Francis senior Megan Dossen has been named Mid-Central Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week after her key role in helping the 11th-ranked Lady Cougars upset top-ranked Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday (January 7).
‑‑ Dossen (Ossian, IN / Bishop Luers) shot 53 percent in the win over IWU (18-2) and scored 11 of her team-leading 17 points in the second half to lead USF to the upset at No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan on 1-7-06. The USF power forward connected on 5-of-9 shots in the second half. She also shot 86 percent from the free-throw line for the week and averaged 7.3 rebounds per game.
‑‑ For the week, which saw USF go 2-1 on the road, Dossen average 13.3 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game. This is her first selection as MCC Player of the Week.
‑‑ With her 17-point effort against the Wildcats, Dossen moved past the 900-point plateau for her career at USF. She has scored 915 points in 54 games since transferring to USF for the 2004-05 season, an average of 16.9 ppg.
