SMOKE ON THE WIND
I stretch to awake and roll out of bed as I smell the coffee brewing in the kitchen.‑ I just have to get up and have a cup or two and prepare for another day.
Yesterday was sunny with a nice breeze, the songbirds singing their new springtime songs.‑ The day was filled with joy and laughter.
Today it is cold and raining.‑ Where is the sunshine?‑ Where is the joy?‑ Where are the songs?‑
It all starts with that morning stretch.‑ We can reach for the stars as we pray for a blessing for our Mother Earth and all of God’s creation, and thank God for that coffee brewing in the kitchen.‑ It still may be cold and rainy outside, but inside our hearts will sing and our spirits will‑capture the sunshine to greet and bless the day.
Oh!‑And don’t forget – this is Indiana.‑If you don’t like the weather, stick around.‑ It will change, and perhaps, just perhaps, we can smell the roses and thank God.
