WAYNEDALE OBSERVES VETERANS DAY-THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2004

November 11th – the time to honor all who had fought in wars.

(Left-top) In The Waynedale News area Veteran’s were honored at American Legion Post #296 with a free meal of Ham and Bean Soup, along with corn bread and chocolate cake. On Friday morning, November 12, the Veteran’s Program at Waynedale Elementary School also honored veterans. The Legion Color Guard presented the colors, and student Boy Scouts led the pledge of allegiance. Third-graders sang, “You’re a Grand Old Flag.” And the advanced recorders played the “Marine’s Hymn.”

Gerald Lloyd from American Legion Post 241 gave a presentation about Veterans Day, and the chorus, led by Mrs. Pose, sang “Black & White”, and “America the Beautiful”.
