On May 15th, 2004 Scott Coe of Waynedale, Indiana was therrrrrrrr at Anderson Speedway Saturday night and took what was long over do him. Scott driving the Bob Coe-Gary Crossgrove owned, Coe Heating & Air Conditioning, Bryant, Crossgrove Decorators sponsored, Larry Harpe prepared, Ellis Race Cars entry, wasn’t just satisfied with winning his heat race, no….. Scott took the 50-lap Ed Martin Auto Group/USA Modified feature event. “It’s been a long dry spell … we all worked pretty hard this winter and with Larry Harpe helping out again this is not going to be the last time you see this team in the winner’s circle!” exclaimed a jubilant Coe after the race. “We felt like we were pretty good coming into today’s race, I guess this must prove it!” Rodney Scott of New Castle, Indiana pressured Coe the whole distance but could not get the job done despite numerous runs to the outside. Rodney ended up second, Dave Stacey third, Damon Breedlove had a great race to come home fourth, and a newcomer, John White from Ohio finished fifth after running second early on.

Again race car fans were treated to a USA Modified Race at Baerfield Speedway on Saturday, September 18, 2004. The Midwest Touring Coe Race Car was there. Driver Scott Coe captured the pole position with his Modified 2000 Ellis Racing Chassis powered by a 406 cubic inch, 575 horsepower Chevy engine. He kept the lead from his starting spot of 28 cars. The cars were racing two wide giving the fans at Baerfield a real show. The Coe Car kept his nose out front for 10 laps. Then 6th pole position car, driven by Brian Nester, moved up and drove right underneath Coe’s Car. Scott’s car started smoking and then of course was black-flagged. “This was just a preliminary heat race,” exclaimed Coe. “I can’t figure out why he would do this. It didn’t mean much in the standings. But you know what goes around, comes around.” Throughout the whole race not one car was ever lapped just showing fans how close of a race the USA Modifieds put on.

As of August 21, 2004 Scott is in the top five for point standings. First place leading with 1040 points is Rodney Scott, followed by Jason Dietsch with 1020 points, then in third spot is Scott Coe with 997. The drive and determination of the Coe Racing Team; Bob Coe, Gary Crossgrove, Ron West, Rich Deel, and Jim Coe is what put them on top.

Scott says he is hoping for another win before the season is over. USA Modifieds will be in action at the Anderson Speedway, Anderson, IN on Sunday, October 10th. Followed by a 100-lap race at Kalamazoo on the 17th (not a point race). And then to wind up the season, on October 24th the Coe Racing Team will be at a really fast track with high banks at Salem Speedway, Salem, IN.

Be Therrrrrrrrr … watch the Coe Racing Team win another.
