ELMHURST ALLSTAR TEAM WINS MAJOR LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
DISTRICT 10 CHAMPS!
Wow! What a wonderful season we had at Elmhurst Little League. First, I want to thank all of the children and their parents for coming out for baseball. Without the children we would not have a league at all. Second, I want to thank all the board members, managers, and coaches for all their hard work. I truly believe that this past season shows how dedicated a group you all have been. Also, I think the league philosophy of teaching kids baseball and having fun is paying off.
We have a great group of coaches that want to teach children baseball. This was shown best by how our teams have done in the post season. Prep League: both All Star teams finished in the top 5 of their tournament. Major League: Ajax-Final Four in tournament play; 11-12 State All Star-Won District and went on to Wabash. Junior League: AMVets 33-Won the District Championship, 13-14 Presidential All Star Team-Won the District Championship and the Wooden Bat Tournament. You have shown everyone that Elmhurst is a league to be respected.
Last, but not least, I want to challenge everyone interested in baseball to get involved. Any children that want to play baseball please sign-up. Anyone interested in coaching, field maintenance, being a board member, please come to our September meeting on Sunday, September 7, 6:30pm, at Southwest Fire District Training Facility at 7001 Old Trail Road.
Hope to see you there,
Patrick Lee
