Ode to the Summer Movie

It’s July let’s give a cheer.
And summer movies all are here.
So load the friends up in the car
To check out some sequels that are up to par.
A second movie’s hard to do
But Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle and Red, White, and Blonde really pull through.
The former stars some real cool chicks
The Angel’s love to get (and give) their power kicks.
Cameron Diaz plays Natalie
She’s sweet, she’s brilliant, and kind of silly.
Alex is played by Lucy Lui
She’s lovely and brilliant and kicks butt too.
Drew Berrymore plays the third Angel.
Her name is Dylan and she digs guys who’re evil.
Bernie Mac is the new Bosley guy.
He’s really dumb but kind of fly.
Now, there’s a fallen Angel among this crew.
It’s Demi Moore, who knew?
The Wittness Protection Program is in her evil clutch.
Thousands of lives are going to be sold for very much.
The Angels unite to beat this foe.
But it’s not easy when she’s been trained by the same fellow.
In the end, the Angels can’t be beat.
They combine friendship, brains, and brawns. Now there’s a feat.
Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde is swell.
It features one sweet little blonde and one big message to tell.
Elle Woods, played by Reese Witherspoon, is back.
She’s planning her wedding and leading an attack.
Though she may have to push back her big date,
She’s saving Bruiser’s mom from a horrid fate.
The dog is being used for testing cosmetics.
“The price of beauty is too high,” and there’s no room for skeptics.
She’s off to Washington to pass “Bruiser’s Bill”
And bringing some pink to Capital Hill.
Though winning this battle will be no walk in the park,
She’s giving words to those who can only bark.
Elle meets some opposition along the way,
Teasing and taunting make some Congressmen’s day.
But in the end she finally wins.
And remembers that we all deserve a voice (and no split ends).
Summer movies are great
And these are the best sequels I’ve seen to date
They’re entertaining and fun
And make me wish they’d never be done.
They’re as good as the originals, that’s hard to do.
(Plus Elle Woods has a really cute shoe.)
