THE VOICE OF THE TOWNSHIP
Last year’s “Great Easter Egg Hunt” by the Wayne Township’s Outreach Department was a “Great” success. Over 500 community members and two special guests came out and endured the chilly breeze to show support for all the children. Our first and most special guest, the Easter Bunny, once again chose to partner with our staff and other area volunteers to bring a special treat to the children most in need. The second guest, although uninvited, was a beautiful white blanket of snow to remind us of the beauty of nature.
This years 7th annual Great Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, April 19th, again at Headwaters Park at 11:00 AM. The purpose of this community event is to recognize children in transition and to provide a fun and exciting day for them, FREE of charge. To make this a great day, I want to invite all the children (between the ages of 3 and 12) to come out and participate. For the Easter Egg Hunt, children will be divided in three groups: 3-5 yrs. / 6-8 yrs. / 9-12 yrs.
Every day, my staff and I help several Wayne Township citizens who are experiencing hardships. This annual event, however, brings a special joy and sense of fulfillment to us. The day promises to be festive and full of fun and excitement, complete with hundreds of hidden Easter eggs, Free Goody bags for every child, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny.
I would like to thank Lois Dada, Outreach Supervisor and her staff for all the hard work and caring that they put into this project. Also, I would like to thank the many people and businesses that gave donations. My staff and I look forward to seeing you! If you have any questions about this event, please call Wayne Township at 449-7000.
