WAYNEDALE’S NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME
The NNO campaign involved representatives from the Fort Wayne Police Department including the Emergency Services Team (EST), K-9 Patrol, Bicycle Patrol, Crime Scene Management and the Motorcycle Division as well as the Fort Wayne Fire Department, Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, and the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
This year’s 19th annual NNO was the largest ever. This was a national campaign designed for people to come together as a community to show support against crime and drugs.
From 6pm to 9pm, residents in neighborhoods throughout Waynedale and across the nation were asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police.
Waynedale’s night began with free food and beverages for all. Residents had the chance to meet the officers that serve their community.
The night was full of family fun for all ages. Moms, dads, and kids came to play in the moonwalk, sit on the fire truck, exam the ambulance, pet the canine patrol dogs, and dunk officials in the dunk tank.
Plan on attending the 6th annual National Night Out in August of 2003.
