THE VOICE OF THE TOWNSHIP

A few weeks ago, an elderly woman called and told us how much her Pfizer Share card has helped her. One of her medications cost over $150 per month, and now that same prescription only costs her $15. She excitedly told us she was going to clean her carpets and take herself out to dinner, something she had not been able to do in a very long time. Stories such as these let us know that what we do here at Wayne Township really makes a difference in people’s lives. They make us feel connected to our community, which is very rewarding.

There is going to be another sign up event right here in Waynedale – this week! The date and time for this event is Thursday, August 8th, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. It will be held at Mt. Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, which is located at 1819 Reservation Drive (right across the street from Miami Middle School). Pastor Gary Miller is a newcomer to Mt. Calvary. His enthusiasm for reaching into this community is inspirational. I am honored to be a partner in this project. For more details about enrolling in these prescription drug saving card programs, please look for our ad on page 2, or check us out on-line at www.waynetownship.org.

In other news, we just had our third annual awards banquet for Wayne Township’s Computer Explorers Camp on August 2. This year we enjoyed a 98% attendance rate, and an incredible amount of parental involvement and support. Good luck to all of the campers!
