Christmas Eve Social – December 24
On December 24th, the bar will close and the Post will be open for a social evening with soft drinks and sweets beginning at 6pm. The Post is open all day until 6pm. After that, it’s a chance for people in the community to enjoy companionship on the eve of the holiday. For those with nothing else planned, come and enjoy this very special evening. Open to the public 6pm to 9pm.
NEW YEAR’S EVE BALL – December 31
7:30pm to 1am $20 per person – Includes food, cash bar, champagne, party favors, rolls & coffee – music by Justus III. There are still some reserved seats left in the main dining room. Don’t wait too long to claim a space for you and your friends. With food, champagne, party favors, and a really well liked band, this is the best spot to welcome in the new year. May it be a year of health and happiness for all of us.

December 22nd – 8am to 9:30am Chef Sylvia will make her famous Biscuits and Gravy – Of course we will have all the other stuff that goes with it – Please sign up at the bar.

Our meeting for January has been cancelled.
Cancellation due to meeting date would be New Years Day.
Next meeting is scheduled for February 5.

Any member or guest of Post 296 with forgotten garments – coats, hats, belts, or umbrellas, please pick up before December 25th, as they will be leaving for a charity.

SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION SQUADRON #241
At SAL’s monthly general meeting on Tuesday, December 18, Jim Fox, Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 38, sponsored by Calvary United Methodist Church on Winchester Road, presented SAL with a plaque, a thank you card, and a picture of the troop standing in front of Mount Rushmore. Last fall, SAL donated money to help the troop with their trip to a Lakota Indian Reservation in South Dakota where the troop helped with a youth camp that is being built there.
