BISHOP LUERS HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA AUDITIONS SCHEDULED
The Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast, comes to Bishop Luers High School this spring. This Tony Award winning production, which has enchanted audiences worldwide, will casts its spell on the Bishop Luers community Thursday evening, April 30th at 7:30 p.m., Friday evening, May 1st at 7:30 p.m., Saturday afternoon, May 2nd with a matinee performance at 2:00 p.m. following the Tea Party/Luncheon, and with a last performance on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m.
Based on Disney’s academy Award winning animated film, the stage version of Beauty and the Beast tells the story of the winsome Belle and her ferocious captor. The 1991 Disney movie became the first animated film nominated for Best Picture. In New York, the Broadway production played to over 5,000 sold-out houses and went on to become the sixth longest running Broadway musical of all time. Filled with lovable characters, beautiful tunes and enchanting sets and costumes, this “tale as old as time” is sure to be another Bishop Luers standing room only hit.
Something new for you and your children! A delightful luncheon / tea party, with opportunity to visit with and enjoy lunch with these lovable characters/cast members, will precede the Saturday afternoon performance only. Limited seating available.
The show is directed by Karlene Krouse, Cindy Figel, and Kirby Volz. Costumes will be professionally rented. Auditions will take place in February. Performances will be held in the gym. Tickets will go on sale in the Campus Ministry Office at Bishop Luers High School on April 15th. Tickets are $10. Tea Party & performance tickets are $15.
