WAYNEDALE TEEN TO COMPETE FOR MISS TEEN NORTHERN INDIANA
Lauren Marie Kowalenko of Sandpoint Road was recently selected to participate in Nationals 2003 Miss Teen Northern Indiana pageant competition that will take place on November 23, 2003. Lauren is the oldest of five children and is a senior at Elmhurst High School. She studies medicine at Anthis Career Center and will have earned a Certified Nursing Assistant license in May of 2004 when she graduates. After high school Loren plans on attending Saint Francis University to earn a degree in nursing. Her long-term goal is forensic medicine. “If I am successful in this pageant, it will help to pay some of my college expenses,” said Loren last Tuesday, while talking to The Waynedale News.
Lauren will be competing, for her share of over $20,000 in scholarships, prizes, and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants. Lauren will be competing in the Miss Teen division, one of three divisions that will have young ladies competing in modeling which include casual and formal wear. Most important, Lauren will display her personality and interviewing skills while interviewing with this year’s Northern Indiana judging panel. Personality is the number one aspect that each contestant is judged on during all phases of competition.
If Lauren were to win the title of Miss Teen Indiana, she would represent Northern Indiana at the Cities of America National Competition that will take place in Orlando, Florida.
Community business, organizations, and private individuals will assist Lauren in participating in this year’s competition by becoming an official sponsor to her. Through sponsorship, each contestant receives all the necessary training, rehearsals, and financial support to become confident and well prepared for this year’s pageant.
Any business, organization, or private individual, interested in becoming a sponsor to Loren may contact her pageant coordinator, Patty Neidert at 1-800-569-2487.
