BRONZE STAR AWARDED TO HUNTER
On June 9, 2004, David Parrish American Legion Post #296 held an award ceremony for S. Sergeant Marion (Toots) Hunter, who is a WWII veteran. He was presented a Bronze Star by Nicholas Wall, representing Senator Richard Lugar’s office in Indianapolis.
Marion’s granddaughter and friends, from Concordia High School sang three patriotic songs. Marion Hunter was also presented with a certificate and pen which was symbolic of the WWII Memorial in Washington DC. Larry Thiele, Commander of American Legion Post #296 presented the awards.
