ROBERT F. KIMBROUGH, M.D., 85, died Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at Lutheran Hospital. Born November 9, 1919, in Logansport, he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II. He retired from Orthopaedic Surgery, in 1997, and was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church, American Medical Association, Indiana State Medical Association, Fort Wayne Allen County Medical Association, Fort Wayne Orthopaedic Society-Past President, Tri-State Orthopaedic Society, Orthopaedic Letters Club, American College of Surgeons, International College of Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Academy of Medicine & Surgery-Past President, Indiana Orthopaedic Society-Past President, Mid-America Orthopaedic Society, Clinical Orthopaedic Society, Instructor in Orthopaedics-Fort Wayne, Orthopaedic Residency Program, Rehabilitation Engineering Committee-I.U.P.U., Fort Wayne-Past President, Parkview Memorial Hospital Foundation-Past President, Medical Staff of Parkview Memorial Hospital-Past President, Church Council, Trinity English Lutheran Church-Past President, National Society for Crippled Children & Adults-Past National Delegate, Indiana Society for Crippled Children & Adults-Past President, Fort Wayne Country Club-Past President and Board Member, member of the Quest Club, Board Member-Turnstone Society for Crippled Children & Adults, Mizpah Shrine and Scottish Rite.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan M. Kimbrough; sons, Stephen M. (Barbara) Kimbrough of Johnson City, Tennessee, William R. Kimbrough of Asheville, North Carolina and Thomas M. (Debbie) Kimbrough of Fort Wayne; daughter, Barbara Kimbrough (Jim) Laura of Greenville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Erik Kimbrough, Erin Kimbrough, Robbie Kimbrough, Kelly Kimbrough, Adam Kimbrough, Stefanie Kimbrough, Anna-Marie Laura and James T. Laura Jr.
Memorial service was Saturday, February 12, at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. Wayne St. The family received friends Saturday in Wagenhals Hall. Calling was also at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 W. Wayne St.
The preferred memorials are the Kimbrough-Stauffer Foundation or Turnstone Society for Crippled Children & Adults.
