CITY WINS SISTER CITIES INTERNATIONAL AWARD
The City of Fort Wayne recently received a 50th Anniversary Award for its partnership with Sister Cities International. Fort Wayne was one of 23 cities to receive this award.
Fort Wayne has three sister cities, Takaoka, Japan, Gera, Germany, and Plock, Poland.
City leaders have developed and sustained relationships with the cities through student, government and economic exchange programs.
Sister Cities International is a nonprofit citizen diplomacy network that creates and strengthens partnerships between U.S. and international communities.
Sister Cities strives to build global cooperation at the municipal level, promote cultural understanding and stimulate economic development.
