CANCER BENEFIT FOR AMY
Amy ‘Vollen’ Martin was diagnosed with breast cancer three weeks after her 25th birthday. She is a registered nurse and completed her Bachelors degree just before her doctor told her not to work.
She has had chemo, surgery, radiation and currently is on her second trial of chemo drugs. She travels to Indianapolis 3 weeks each month and it’s becoming more and more difficult for her to pay the gas expenses. Her battery is bad and the tires are worn on her car.
No longer able to work, and without insurance, her family is struggling. Amy has three children, ages 14, 12 and 8.
Waynedale AMVets is sponsoring a benefit with a live band, cakewalk, bake sale, silent auction, electronics, stereo equipment, scrubs, breast cancer items and delicious food. Many gift baskets will also be available. Handmade dreamcatchers, too.
This benefit is to help a loving, caring woman and mother pay bills and hopefully have a Christmas.
Doors open Saturday, October 22 at noon and dinner will be available 5-7pm. Band will be playing at 8pm.
Anyone who wishes to donate: Amy Martin, 3011 Prairie Grove, Fort Wayne, IN 46809.
