WELCOME HOME SGT. TRAVIS DAY
Sgt. Travis L. Day’s homecoming happened on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He was greeted by his wife Sasha and new baby girl Aleena Averie. His dad Ed and step-mom Nancy also welcomed him and his Company 2/8 U. S. Marines home from Afghanistan.
It was the sergeant’s first time to see his baby Aleena Averie. And, how proud he was to see her!
Sgt. Day has lived in Waynedale for most of his life. His mother, Kay Horacek and grandmother, Ruth Horacek also live in Waynedale. Along with brothers, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
Sgt. Day returned from his third tour of duty in the Middle East.
He and his family (Sasha & Aleena Averie) will live in Hubert, North Carolina, a small town close to Camp Lejeune.
Sgt. Day will be receiving the Bronze Star later this year, for his actions in Afghanistan.
“We are all very proud and thrilled to see our brave Marine home,” said Ed and Nancy Day.
