MAYORAL FORUM ON QUALITY OF LIFE
Arts United, PBS39, the Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics, and the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne will present a live, televised town hall style discussion with mayoral candidates Tim Smith (R) and Tom Henry (D) at the Auer Auditorium in the Rhinehart Music Center at Purdue Fort Wayne on October 17, 2019 at 7pm. The Mayoral Forum on Quality of Life is an initiative to elevate discussion about Fort Wayne’s arts, culture, and quality of life amenities with the city’s mayoral candidates.
This event is funded through the generosity of the Knight Foundation through the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne. “We firmly believe that a vibrant community includes important quality of life elements such as social offerings, openness, aesthetics and access” said Brad Little, President and CEO of the Community Foundation, “These are important factors in emotionally connecting residents to where they live and fostering a sense of belonging.”
Representatives from Arts United, PBS39, and the Mike Downs Center will curate questions from community. Bruce Haines, General Manager of PBS39 and host of “PrimeTime39” will serve as the forum moderator. Some community members will be invited to address the candidates with their questions during the live event. Questions may be submitted for consideration to askthecandidate@artsunited.org until September 20, 2019.
Attendance is free, and seating for the live event is on a first come, first served basis. Broadcast coverage begins at 7pm on PBS39. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as no admittance will be allowed after 6:45pm when doors close for broadcast.
