‘DARE TO DREAM’ PARTNERS WITH STUDENTS TO DELIVER RANCH EXPERIENCE FOR KIDS

The Dare to Dream Youth Ranch session scheduled for Thursday, September 21, 2017, serving the ‘Littles’ from its long-standing relationship with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana, Inc., will also introduce an exciting new partnership with the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) to organize and lead the session games, including: sack races, tug of war, egg spoon relay race, hula hoop contest, and face painting.

The Manchester University College of Pharmacy SNPhA Chapter, comprised of over 80 dedicated students, is driven to help the underserved by improving the human condition through service in the Manchester and Fort Wayne communities and surrounding areas. Its executive board members were integral in researching and selecting this project, including: Jonell Nwabueze, President; Sandeep Kaur, Vice President; Doyin Eminowa, Treasurer; and Alex Barret, Membership Drive Chair.

The Dare to Dream Youth Ranch is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which helps kids, ages 4-18 years- old, dream bigger dreams by offering them a ranch experience delivered through a session. During the session, the child is paired with a trained volunteer leader. The session begins with barn chores, then grooming and tacking (saddling) the horse. Next, the horse is led by the leader while the child rides, and is engaged in a variety of games in the riding arena.

“While it may sound cliché to say young people are our future, it is a statement of profound truth. That’s why our alignment with like-minded organizations such as Big Brother Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana, as well as our new partnership with Manchester University College of Pharmacy SNPhA Chapter, is critical as we maintain a laser focus on serving the children of our great community,” said Jim Buck, Executive Director at Dare to Dream Youth Ranch. “We believe all children need inspiration to dream bigger dreams, no matter if that dream is to gain greater confidence socially or to beat a life-threatening illness—this is our ‘why.’ For almost 10 years now, we have worked tirelessly to build Dare to Dream Youth Ranch as a place where children learn about themselves, the world of nature, and earn the satisfaction that only comes through helping others— people and animals alike. Our ranch creates experiences that change children’s lives, inspires them to reach higher, go further and dream bigger. It’s their stories that never fail to inspire us, to continue to spread our Mission deeply, reach more youth and positively impact their lives.”
