STUDENTS CREATE & INVENT AT CAMP INVENTION
From June 8 to 12, twenty-five Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School students participated in Camp Invention, a day camp dedicated to fostering in children the skills necessary to become inventors.
Camp Invention is created and sponsored by the National Inventors Hall of Fame and was hosted by Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School. The 25 first through sixth graders spent a week using their imaginations, problem solving and using recyclable household items to create group and individual inventions.
The students worked on creating and racing efficient go-karts and small air-propelled rockets. They also created a “next level gamer” maze board that is the first step in creating a video game.
The camp ended with an Inventor’s Showcase where the young inventors proudly showed their inventions to family and friends.
Camp Invention was directed by Ms. Jamie Black. The camp’s modules were taught by Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School teachers Mrs. Nancy Laudeman and Mrs. Sarah Darling.
