JR. INDIANA MASTER NATURALIST CAMP
The Jr. Indiana Master Naturalist (Jr. IMN) certification class is held for children (ages 9-12) at Fox Island County Park during FWCS’s spring break week of March 30-April 3rd. The classes are for the entire week, Monday-Friday, from 9:30am to 3:30pm daily, ages 9-12. This one-of-a-kind “NATURE CAMP” includes eight specialty classes on frogs, earthworms, geology, ponding for aquatic life, native plants, owls, birding with binoculars, and trees.
The certification camp also provides three volunteer workshops during the camp week. As long as each camper/student completes 80% of their classes and the three volunteer workshops (totaling six volunteer hours), they will receive their Jr. IMN patch and certificate.
We spend two hours daily exploring and hiking Fox Island County Park.
The class fee is $100 and includes: three field-guides/pocket guides as well as a binder of nature-related activities and journaling supplies. Snacks and drinks are included but students need to bring their own trail-ready lunch each day.
Sign up and register by March 20th (HIGH NOON!) to reserve your spot. Registration forms available at www.allencountyparks.org at the following link:
