IACT GREEN COMMUNITIES – Message From The Mayor
I had a great time at the recent Waynedale News celebration. It was a neat opportunity to meet with you and talk about the positive momentum we’re seeing in our City.
I’m pleased to be a part of The Waynedale News and its efforts to inform and educate the community. Keep up the tremendous work and thank you for having me as a guest.
As we continue to work together to make a meaningful difference, I wanted to share a success story.
The City of Fort Wayne recently hosted the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns (IACT) Annual Conference & Exhibition. As part of the conference, we were recognized as a “Green Community of the Year.” We were one of three cities to be recognized.
IACT launched the Green Communities Initiative in 2008 to identify potential cost savings, promote economically competitive quality of life concepts, and ultimately serve as role models for citizens while better protecting our environment.
The award demonstrates that the work we do each day makes Fort Wayne a leader in implementing programs that provide enhanced services to the public. Our commitment to engagement, innovation, and performance makes us a growing and thriving City.
