BLESSING ON NEW EDUCATIONAL WING

St-E-Bishop-Blesses-schoolOn August 16, Bishop Kevin Rhoades, Catholic bishop of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, visited Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton parish to celebrate Mass and to bless the new educational wing. The wing was constructed this past year for the opening of the new Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton School, as well as the start of the school year for the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Religious Education classes.

Bishop Rhoades complimented the parish on building the new education wing so quickly. “It is a sign of your faith and your commitment to the children of this parish and their formation in the faith,” said Bishop Rhoades.

After the Mass, Bishop Rhoades, Father Jim Shafer, Father Ben Muhlenkamp and Deacon Jim Kitchens processed to the parish’s gym, where parishioners gathered. Bishop Rhoades invited the dozens of students present, both Catholic School and Religious Education, to walk with him as he toured the new wing and blessed all the rooms with holy water. During the tour, parishioners in the parish gym were able to follow the blessing with a live video feed as the group went through the building and the bishop blessed all the rooms.
