DAIRY-QUEENThese past few days have really started to show us signs that summer may actually be here! What better way to celebrate the beginning of the summer season than with a cool treat from Dairy Queen (DQ) on Lower Huntington Road here in Waynedale? Although this establishment is part of a franchise, it is locally owned and operated and that’s exactly what it feels like. The staff of DQ is friendly and more than willing to go the extra mile to make sure that each and every customer walks away satisfied and eager to return- greeting all drive through and walk in customers with smiles and kind words.

I had the pleasure of tasting their veggies quesadillas with onion rings! Everything was cooked perfectly and I’ll have to say, the onion rings were a delight. My meal, of course, ended with some form of ice cream. How could it not? I tried the Confetti Cake Waffle Cone Blizzard Treat. These cones are baked freshly each day. The staff at DQ made it convenient for me by waiting until I was finished with my meal before bringing me my ice cream order. How considerate of them!

Not only did I enjoy my food, I got to enjoy it on DQ’s lovely outdoor patio! This is a great place to enjoy some dessert with family or friends at the end of the day or on a hot afternoon.

Currently, Dairy Queen is offering a $5.00 lunch special that includes dessert! If you’re in the area for lunch, check it out. Also, they are running a special on fruit smoothies or orange Julius’- buy one, get one for $0.99
Traditionally, DQ has offered an array of ice cream cakes that are perfect for graduation parties, summer birthdays, Memorial Day cookouts, and all your summer gatherings. You can choose from a variety of different types as well as decorations for every occasion. If you’re planning an upcoming party, consider giving DQ a call.

Oh, and don’t forget to check out DQ’s coupons on page 11 of this issue!
