AZAR’S BIG BOY – FRIENDLY FOODIE
Conveniently located in the heart of Waynedale, is a little place that everyone knows as Azar’s. Although part of a large franchise, this Waynedale favorite is consistently packed with regulars and is a place that can be relied on for friendly service and good food.
I had the pleasure of dining at Azar’s Big Boy this week for the first time since their remodeling and reopening back in April. What a great new look! The building, even from the outside, looked rejuvenated and fresh. The dining area was bright, open and clean, giving off a retro feeling. My server was cheerful, attentive, and helpful.
The first thing I noticed upon entering the restaurant was the lovely looking soup, salad and fruit bar. Before even opening the menu I knew that I wanted to add the salad bar to my meal. And I’m glad that I did. The salad bar was full of fresh choices including two types of soup, a selection of fruit, desserts and snacks. For the price of $4.30, I would say this was definitely worth it. I supplemented the salad, soup and fruit bar with a freshly made turkey wrap on a spinach tortilla for $5.95. I found the special ranch sauce to be very delicious! And, as always, I ended my meal with my favorite course- dessert. This time it was a wonderful coconut cream pie ($2.45). It was very fresh and has a wonderful crust and crisp coconut shavings on top. I give my entire meal an A+.
Whether you’re a regular, someone who hasn’t visited Azar’s in a while, or someone looking for a new place to dine- you’re in luck! From September 23rd – September 29th Azar’s Big Boy will be hosting their annual Customer Appreciation Week. During the week, for only $6.00. Meals include a sandwich, side, beverage and dessert. Sandwich options include- Big Boy Sandwich, Buddy Boy Sandwich, Brawney Lad Sandwich, or Swiss Miss Sandwich. Options for sides include French fries, onion rings, cole slaw, cottage cheese, or applesauce. Choose from a carbonated beverage, hot or iced tea, or coffee. And last but not least customers can choose from mini hot fudge cake, a slice of coconut cream pie, or a slice of pumpkin pie.
