WILDCAT FESTIVAL BEGINS FRIDAY, AUGUST 23RD

Come and join in the fun at the Markle Wildcat Festival August 23, 24, and 25th in Markle, Indiana. Friday, August 23rd there will be a pork chop dinner and dance at the Markle Fire Station. The dinner will be from 4pm to 8pm and the dance will be from 6pm to 10pm with a 50’s swing dance demonstration. After that, down at the Markle Park at 10:15 pm there will be a Fireworks display!

Saturday, August 24th at 7am will be a pancake breakfast at the Markle United Methodist Church. At 8am go down to the Markle Park and watch them throw the first pitch to start the Mushball Tournament.

All day Saturday and Sunday there will be food vendors down at the park.

At 10am there will be the parade in downtown Markle, and immediately after the parade there will be vendors set up on S. R. 116. Downtown will also have a dessert bake off at noon, the Norwell Drum line at 1pm, a sidewalk chalk contest at 2pm, Bingo from 2pm to 4pm, an ice sculpture at 3pm, and a cornhole tournament at 4pm.

At the Markle Park there will be children’s games from 11am to 4:30 pm, a scuba diving demonstration at 11am, Mark’s Ark performance at noon, a water ball fight between the fire stations from 1pm to 3 pm, Jungle Larry will be performing at 2pm, Frog jumping contest at 2pm, and a Frisbee contest at 3pm. The Wildcat Princess contest will be held at the back pavilion at 6:30 pm. Then at 8pm in the Markle Park country singer Jessie Brown will be giving a free concert. Make sure that you bring your lawn chairs.

Sunday, August 25th from 8am to 2pm will be the annual car show at the park. There will be fun contests and lots of nice cars to look at. They will be handing out the awards at 2:00 pm along with drawing the winner for a new trailer. Buy your tickets at the festival.
