SHAPING THE CULTURE OF SPORTS

The Canterbury School Athletics Department is hosting a free presentation Wednesday, September 4, at 7 p.m. in Canterbury High School Summers Auditorium, 3210 Smith Road, Fort Wayne, IN

“Shaping the Culture of Sport” with national speaker Jim Thompson, Positive Coaching Alliance. Whether you coach a Little League team, AAU, club sports, a school sport or at the college level, this presentation will help coaches and administrators with tools to assist in your professional development including how to maximize the youth sport experience, how to create a positive culture for your organization or team, and how to coach using “best practices” to make teams more competitive.

The presentation is free and open to student athletes, parents and area coaches and administrators. RSVP by August 30, space is limited, at www.canterburyschool.org.

About the speaker
Jim Thompson is the founder and chief executive officer of the Positive Coaching Alliance, a national non-profit formed at Stanford University. This movement uses sports to develop better athletes and better people. Thompson is an educator who has taught and coached at all levels. He also has authored eight books on coaching and youth sports. In 2011 he was named as one of the 20 living Americans who have made significant contributions to the practice of fair play and who have enhanced the national consciousness regarding the central importance of sports.
