Fort Wayne Community Schools said farewell to 123 retirees on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at a dinner in their honor at Andorfer Commons, Indiana Tech. The retirees had more than 3,200 combined years of service.

We wish the best to the teachers, bus drivers, classroom assistants, custodians and administrators who dedicated many years to making a difference in the lives of children. The years of service for this year’s group of retirees ranged from 8.5 years to 46. Waynedale area retirees include:

Vicky French-Instructional assistant, Waynedale 22

Jane Schopfer-Fourth grade teacher, Maplewood 20.5

Phyllis Strohl-Student interventionist, Indian Village 18.5

Nancy Skiver-Office assistant, Elmhurst 17

Brenda Lyons-Kindergarten teacher, Waynedale 15.5
