BOB GEBHARD’S ACCORDION STUDENTS
The Pearson Company, Fort Wayne, sold accordions with a teaching plan. It was called the Howell-Aretta System, developed by Ken Howell and Anthony Aretta, composers and teachers, who originated the highly successful program. It was exclusively controlled by the Chicago Musical Instrument Company.
Every week the student would make a payment on his instrument and in return receive a lesson.
In Fort Wayne, Director Robert L. Gebhard of Pearson Company, located near the Rialto Theatre, frequently traveled to Chicago for instruction on the business essentials of the Howell-Aretta program.
