Operation U.S. Troop Support and Operation Socks for Our Troops, has announced the second annual Garage Sale for the Troops to be held on Saturday, June 12, and Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 7136 Pine Lake Road, Fort Wayne from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on June 12, and 1:00-4:00 p.m. on June 13. The public is invited to make donations of new or gently-used items to the sale between the hours of 3:30 and 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 11, 2010.

All proceeds from the sale will be used to directly benefit U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan and injured soldiers recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Items not sold during the sale will be donated to Salvation Army, Goodwill, and other charities.

Emery McClendon of ARMAD (Amateur Radio Military Appreciation Day) will also be on site the morning of June 12 to afford community members the opportunity to express ‘live’ appreciation for our troops. ARMAD was founded in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

With the help of donors and volunteers from all over the United States, to date, Operation U.S. Troop Support and Operation Socks for Our Troops has collected and shipped over 46,000 items to U.S. troops and soldiers recovering from injuries stateside.
