THAT’S THE WAY I SAW IT

WHO ARE THE 31 PERCENT?

The other day one of the sports programs listed the results of a study. Of the many thousand that replied 31% said the steroids problem had affected their baseball attendance, 53% believed it had not hurt their interest and the others didn’t care.

The program thought this study was very significant.

To me, it says nothing. How many games did 31% attend and how many did the 53% attend? If the 31% attended 50 to 60 games a year and the 53% two to three this would be a significant study.

Many published studies have very little value unless a great deal of research is completed. I will always see it that way.
