NAIA All-AMERICAN HONORABLE MENTION

University of Saint Francis senior Marie Kaufmann has been named to the 2009 NAIA All-American Team.

Kaufmann (Fort Wayne, IN / Bishop Luers H.S.) was an honorable mention selection. She led the Mid-Central College Conference in scoring in 2008-09 (17.0 points per game) and also led the MCC in blocked shots (42 for an average of 1.4 per game). A 6-foot-1 center, Kaufmann also shot .550, second best in the MCC regular season, and finished No. 10 on the USF career scoring list with 1,279 points.

A first-team All-MCC selection for 2008-09, Kaufmann’s 527 points this season is the seventh best single-season for the Lady Cougars. Kaufmann scored in double figures in the first 23 games of the season including nine games with 20 or more points. She scored 35 points, a season and career high, to help USF upset No. 24 Aquinas in November.

She finished 18th in NAIA field goal percentage at .526, 28th in scoring average and 35th in blocks per game (1.4). Kaufmann was a second-team MCC selection in 2007-08.
